  • What is EMS training, and how does it benefit the body?
EMS is a low-impact, highly efficient strength and conditioning training program that uses a small current to stimulate muscles. EMS aims to strengthen movement patterns instead of pushing gravity like conventional training.
  • Can EMS training be used to target specific muscle groups?
During EMS training, we can control intensity levels for each muscle group. For example, we can decrease the intensity level on your legs and increase the intensity on the glute muscles.
  • How does EMS training compare to traditional strength training methods?
Our brains are very good at interpreting a stimulus and activating the muscles necessary to perform a movement. In conventional training, if we lift lighter weights, we get a certain amount of muscle fibres recruited; if we lift something heavier, we get more muscle fibres recruited. We can activate 90% of the muscle fibres with EMS without impacting the joints.
  • What precautions should be taken before starting an EMS training program?
Before each EMS session, you must be well-hydrated and not train on an empty stomach. For more tips about a healthy diet, please visit the link below. https://www.voltfitness.com.au/post/optimizing-nutrition-for-effective-ems-training

  • How does the intensity of the electrical stimulation during EMS training affect results?
The intensity of the electrical stimulation determines the amount of muscle fibres engaged during each contraction.
